Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 October 2026

Engelberg Lab, a research group at Tel-Hai University of Kiryat Shmona in the Galilee, respects the privacy of visitors to this website. This policy explains what information is collected when you use the website or contact us, how it is used, and what rights you have under the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, and its regulations.

Who is responsible

This website is operated by Engelberg Lab, Tel-Hai University of Kiryat Shmona in the Galilee, Gustave Leven Campus (East campus), Building 6, Floor 1, Kiryat Shmona, Israel. For any privacy question, contact yizhaqyiz@telhai.ac.il. This website is a non-commercial academic website. It presents the lab, its research, team members, publications and opportunities to join or collaborate with the group.

Information you provide

The website has no registration, user accounts, online forms, newsletter or online payments. If you contact us by email, you may choose to send us personal information, such as your name, email address, institutional affiliation, CV or academic background. You are not legally required to provide it. We use it only to reply to you and for matters directly related to your message, such as research collaborations, student or researcher positions, academic activities and professional correspondence.

Information collected automatically

Like any website, the server that hosts this website records basic technical information that is needed to deliver pages and keep the website secure, such as IP address, browser type, device type, and the date and time of the request. This information is kept by our hosting provider in server logs for security and maintenance only. We do not use it to identify visitors.

Cookies and similar technologies

The website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. When you first visit, a cookie banner asks for your choice. Your choice is saved in a necessary cookie (“cookieyes-consent”) for 12 months, so that we do not ask again on every page. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings button in the corner of the screen. The accessibility toolbar stores your display preferences, such as text size or contrast, in your own browser, so that they remain in place when you move between pages. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us. If you accept functional cookies, the embedded Google Map may set cookies controlled by Google.

Third-party services

Fonts and images are served from this website’s own server. The home page loads an animation library (GSAP) from the jsDelivr content delivery network, which receives your IP address in order to deliver the file. No other information is shared with jsDelivr, and the library sets no cookies.

The footer and the Contact page include a Google Map. The map is not loaded until you accept functional cookies. If you accept, your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address and technical information about your browser, and may set cookies, under Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. If you do not accept, the map is not loaded, and you can open the location directly in Google Maps through the link below the map.

The cookie banner is provided by CookieYes, which receives your IP address in order to display the banner and record your choice.

The website includes links to external websites, such as Google Maps, scientific journals, publication databases and academic institutions. When you follow such a link, you leave this website, and the privacy policy of that website applies. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of external websites.

How we use and share information

We do not sell personal information and do not use it for advertising or marketing. Information you send us may be shared, only when reasonably necessary, with relevant Tel-Hai University staff or service providers, or when required by law.

How long we keep information

Emails and attachments you send us are kept for as long as needed to handle your inquiry and the related academic or administrative process, in accordance with Tel-Hai University policies, and are then deleted.

Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect information we receive. However, no website or email system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your rights

Under the Protection of Privacy Law, you may ask to review personal information about you that we hold (section 13), and ask that it be corrected or deleted if it is inaccurate, incomplete, unclear or out of date (section 14). To make a request, email yizhaqyiz@telhai.ac.il. We will respond within the time required by law.

Changes to this policy

If the website changes in a way that affects your privacy, for example if analytics or other embedded third-party services are added, we will update this policy and the date at the top of this page.
